Who I Am
Hi, I'm Craig...
I've been working as a Carpenter since 2000. In 2008 when I founded Permahomes I took on my first full new build project. Since then I've taken on many projects from traditional masonry builds, to steel and timber frame. My roots are still strong as a carpenter, and with the help of my highly skilled colleagues I’m ready to tackle anything from the most complex construction projects to the smallest of home improvement tasks. My background in Architectural Technology gives me an excellent understanding of the construction and design process from start to finish, and my obsession with perfection ensures the end result is always the best it can be.

Unique Ideas
Do you have a construction or renovation idea that you’d love to bring to life? Since 2000, I’ve helped my clients make their ideas a reality. I work on all project sizes from single rooms to full design and build commercial and residential buildings. I also cover many aspects, some kitchens I hand build from lumps and sheets of timber, and others are ordered from a catalogue and arrive assembled for me to fit. Each task is tailored to be the best fit for my clients needs and budget.

Detached Bungalow with Loft Rooms
2008
One of my first projects involved taking on this build as an empty shell. The client and the previous builder had different ideas and parted company after the roof went on. I got involved for the full interior fit and finish. The end result was a beautiful home and a project saved from collapse. The house was made up of 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, large kitchen, utility room, study and living area.
Rustic Retreat
2010
A simple holiday home with great views. For this project was tasked with refurbishing a timber holiday chalet. Before refurbishment it was similar to a static caravan inside. We altered a few openings, added services, insulation and then finished with white painted walls and a solid oak floor. The client appreciated details hence the shadow line at the base of the walls and striking birch plywood kitchen. Very simple and beautiful with minimum fuss.
Chicken Dome
2015
An unusual, challenging and rewarding project. A client asked me if could make it, and I couldn't refuse. A geodesic dome made entirely from timber. All of the timber had to be machined to within 1/10th of a degree. I go for 100% accuracy but had to buy special tooling for this one! It was a trial for a bigger dome to be made in the future.
